BAE Systems wins USN contract for AEGIS services
BAE Systems was awarded a $188.2m contract to provide the US Navy with system engineering, integration and testing services for the AEGIS Weapons and Combat system.
Mark Keeler, VP and general manager of BAE Systems’ Integrated Defence Solutions said: ‘BAE Systems personnel have worked side-by-side with Navy sailors and civilians for nearly 40 years to strengthen and modernise the fleet of AEGIS-equipped surface ships.’
The contract will provide USN acquisition managers with on-site leadership and engineering services at their sites in Mount Laurel, Bath and Pascagoula. Furthermore, it will enhance logistics, cyber security, production, acquisition and operational oversight across the life cycle of the AEGIS Weapons and Combat system.
