Babcock has secured a five-year contract with the Royal Navy and Royal Marines to provide 200 inflatable boats for their Boat Support and dive teams.

The contract was confirmed by the company on 6 March but it did not disclose the value of the deal.

Sean Donaldson, Managing Director Babcock Energy and Marine said: ‘This contract supports critical maritime operations and enables us to embed our proven defence capability’.

The boats are based on a new design in the Wing P series, which is co-manufactured by Wing Henshaw and is available in three role specific variants.
