Software acquisition rises in importance for USSOCOM

US Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) will officially stand up a new Program Executive Office (PEO) on 1 June to support programmes of record with software acquisition.

Announced by USSOCOM Acquisition Executive Jim Smith on the first day of the virtual Special Operations Forces Industry Conference (vSOFIC) on 12 May, PEO SOF Digital Applications will be tasked with providing the ‘technical skills and competencies necessary to focus on SOF software-intensive projects’.
