As the US Army reviews its modernisation priorities and stands up a new command, the coming budget request could decide whether the service presses ahead with upgrading legacy vehicles or attempts to move to a next-generation capability.
In the forthcoming fiscal year 2019 budget request, Future Years Defense Program (FYDP) numbers outlining budget plans for the coming five years are expected to be included.
