Ukraine shows off heavy weapons at Kiev parade
A number of new and experimental heavy weapons were displayed by the Ukrainian Army during the country’s 24 August military parade held in the capital Kiev, along with several legacy weapon systems apparently taken out storage and upgraded.
The Independence Day parade was led by the T-84-120 Yatagan MBT prototype, a follow-on development of the T-80UD, armed with a 120mm gun. This was developed almost two decades ago and was a commercial failure, but the programme has been revived this year.
Ukrainian President Pyotr Poroshenko claimed in front of the press that the T-84-120 is set to undergo state testing
