Ukraine completes testing of new mobile mortar
A new 120mm mobile mortar system dubbed Bars-8MMK was tested by Ukroboronservis, a subsidiary of Ukraine’s state-owned Ukroboronprom defence production and export conglomerate.
The Bars-8MMK’s development was launched in 2016 and by late October 2018 completed its state testing. Immediately after testing completion it was demonstrated to the Secretary of the National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine, Oleksandr Turchinov.
Turchinov stated that the successful completion of the Bars-8MMK state testing will be followed by commissioning with the Ukrainian Land Forces, the Landing-Assault Troops and the Special Operations Forces.
However, he declined to reveal whether if there is a budget
