UAE receives new 6x6 armoured ambulances
The UAE armed forces has begun taking delivery of a new armoured 6x6 ambulance from domestic vehicle manufacturer Nimr, bolstering its protected casualty evacuation (CASEVAC) capability.
The ambulance, part of the Hafeet 6x6 vehicle family, is currently rolling off the production line at Nimr’s new purpose-built manufacturing facility in Al Ajban, close to Abu Dhabi in the UAE.
According to Nimr officials speaking to Shephard during a visit to Al Ajban, the UAE has ordered a total of 45 armoured ambulances, with the contract formally beginning in March/April this year. The production rate is currently around two vehicles
