Sweden requests Patriot Configuration-3+
The US State Department has made a determination approving a potential foreign military sale of Patriot Configuration-3+ Modernised Fire Units to Sweden, the Defense Security Cooperation Agency announced on 20 February.
In a package worth $3.2 billion, Sweden has requested four Patriot Configuration-3+ Modernised Fire Units consisting of: four AN/MPQ-65 radar sets, four AN/MSQ-132 engagement control stations, nine antenna mast groups, 12 M903 launching stations, 100 Patriot MIM-104E Guidance Enhanced Missile-TBM missiles, 200 Patriot Advanced Capabilty-3 Missile Segment Enhancement missiles and four electrical power plants III.
The request also includes communications equipment, tools and test equipment, range and test programmes, and support equipment.
If the sale goes ahead, the prime contractors will be Raytheon and Lockheed Martin.
