Romania signs framework contract for Iveco trucks
Iveco Defence Vehicles has signed a framework agreement with the Romanian Ministry of National Defence for more than 2,900 high mobility trucks.
The framework contract includes four types of high mobility trucks for the Romanian armed forces: 4x4, 6x6, 8x8 and 8x8 Prime Mover, in 16 different variants. Around a third of the vehicles will be fitted with an armoured cabin.
The vehicles will be equipped with Central Tyre Inflation System, black-out lights, dual-fuel engines, self-recovery winches and tactical axles. With high mobility and fording capability the vehicles are C-130 air transportable in order to provide tactical support to any military operation.
The first 942 vehicles ordered will be delivered in a four year period beginning in 2020.
