Atlet family to enter state trials in spring 2021
The Atlet family of armoured vehicles is poised to enter state trials in early 2021, after passing a significant milestone.
Alexander Krasovitsky, general director of manufacturer Military Industrial Company (VPK), said on 18 December 2020 that Atlet had ‘finished preliminary trials’. The following day, Oleg Salyukov, Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Ground Forces, predicted that state trials will be completed by Q3 2021.
Extensive tests of two Atlet prototypes (an AMN 233121 multi-purpose and an ASN 233122 special-purpose armoured vehicle) in 2020 included fire resistance and blast trials.
