Polish RAK to deliver this year
The first deliveries of the 120 mm self-propelled mortar RAK system for the Polish Armed Forces will take place in the fourth quarter of 2017.
This will upgrade the Polish Army's indirect fire support capability as the new RAK mortar vehicles, which use wheeled 8x8 Rosomak chassis will replace legacy 1970s vintage, Soviet-era 120mm 2S1, 2S1M and 2S1T Gozdzik tracked and wheeled self-propelled howitzers.
A spokesperson from Huta Stalowa Wola (HSW), which is manufacturing and integrating the system, told Shephard that a total of eight artillery companies will get the new system.
Initial vehicles will be handed over to the first two company artillery units by the end
