Mack Defense selects Hutchinson Industries for M917A3 HDT parts
Mack Defense has chosen Hutchinson Industries to provide complete wheel assemblies, beadlocks and thermal hub covers for it's M917A3 Heavy Dump Truck (HDT).
David Hartzell, president of Mack Defense, said: ‘Wheeled military vehicles like the M917A3 require specialised protection to help maintain mobility in harsh operating environments.’
The HDT is based on the civilian Mack Granite model used in construction across North America. For its US military customer based, Mack adds heavier-duty rear axles, all-wheel drive and increased suspension ride height.
The US Army placed an order for up to 683 M917A3s as part of a $296 million contract in May 2018.
