Indian LSV trials approach
With the Indian Army looking to modernise its protected wheeled vehicle fleet, field trials for the future Light Specialist Vehicle (LSV) are to start soon, Shephard has learned.
The Ministry of Defence released an RfP for 1,300 LSVs in 2014. Plans are to procure 3,500kg 4x4 LSVs with a payload capacity of 900-1,200kg.
The army stipulated that the LSV needs to perform reconnaissance and patrol roles for all arms, provide space and mobility in all terrain types so small teams (approximately six) can operate independently on the battlefield.
