GDELS develops new Piranha variant
General Dynamics European Land Systems (GDELS) has developed a new variant of its Piranha 8x8 wheeled infantry fighting vehicle (IFV), the company announced on 30 May.
The new vehicle will be equipped with Elbit’s UT30 MKII unmanned turret armed with an Orbital ATK Armament Systems 30mm MK44 dual feed cannon, 7.62mm co-axial machine gun and a pod of two anti-tank guided weapons, and will be fitted with an advanced digital communication and information system from General Dynamics Mission Systems.
GDELS is offering the IFV for the Bulgarian Army’s Battalion Battle Group acquisition project.
