Eurosatory 2010: Thales debuts Hawkei to export market
Thales is displaying a mockup of the Hawkei protected light mobility vehicle developed by Thales Australia for the Australian Army’s Land 121 Phase 4 programme at the Eurosatory exhibition in Paris.
According to Ian Irving, Thales Australia vice president of Land Systems, the Hawkei is 'a step beyond anything else you will see at the show' providing levels of blast, ballistic and fragmentation protection not previously seen in a 7t vehicle.
The Hawkei is one of three designs that will be evaluated alongside the Joint Light Tactical Vehicle to determine which design best meets the army's needs for about 1,300
