Esterline displays for Scout SV
General Dynamics (GD) UK has subcontracted Esterline to provide its Codis visualisation products for the Scout Specialist Vehicle (SV) programme, Esterline announced on 8 September.
The contract is valued at $21 million and will see Esterline supply specialised video-processing hardware, triple-head driver’s displays, and crew-station displays for the vehicle.
Specific hardware to be delivered includes Codis TX-335S turret crew-station displays to present gunners and commanders with logistics, mission-system and gun-control information; Codis TX-321S triple-head driver’s displays for a 120-degree route image in day or night vision, with selectable front or rear view; and Codis VPU-101 video-processing units to receive and analyse data from multiple vehicle-mounted sensors and process, reformat and distribute visualisation to the displays.
The delivery of the hardware will start in 2016 and will continue for seven years.
Curtis Reusser, president and CEO, Esterline, said: ‘Esterline is proud to have been competitively selected by General Dynamics UK to provide our visualisation products for the Scout SV. We are pleased to participate in this important programme that will provide British troops with state-of-the-art protection and technology.’
