Austria completes Pandur EVO blast trials
The Austrian Army has completed ballistic and mine protection testing for its new Pandur EVO 6x6 armoured vehicle, ahead of an expected handover later this year.
An Austrian Army newspaper revealed that the development programme is progressing and the vehicle manufacturer – General Dynamics European Land Systems – had recently completed destructive testing of a trial hull.
The testing was carried out at the Allentsteig training area, in Lower Austria, at the beginning of 2018.
The hull was subject to three subsequent detonations, as well as ballistic firings.
