Australia’s Hawkei programme moves on despite reliability concerns
Stage two testing of the Thales Australia Hawkei Protected Mobility Vehicle - Light (PMV-L) for the Land 121 Phase 4 programme was completed in November 2018, but the Australian DoD is yet to accept the results of stage two ‘test and evaluation activities’.
Acceptance of these activities is the ‘next forecasted milestone’ in the programme, an Australian DoD spokesperson told Shephard.
Entry into stage three full-rate production and delivery of the remaining 1,000 production vehicles and 958 trailers is contingent on this acceptance. To date, 100 have been delivered.
