AUSA 2017: SAIC partnership to compete for MPF contract

Science Applications International Corp. (SAIC) has announced it will develop combat vehicle prototypes to meet the US Army’s Mobile Protected Firepower (MPF) requirement.

The announcement on 5 October will see SAIC partner with ST Kinetics and CMI Defence to compete for an Engineering and Development (EMD) contract to build prototypes for the MPF programme.

The new partnership will work to rapidly develop a lightweight vehicle solution solution that ‘integrates mature, currently produced offerings from our industry partners,’ according to Jim Scanlon, SAIC senior vice president and general manager of the Defense Systems Customer Group, in a company statement.

According to Scanlon,
