AUSA 10: ATK introduces two unmanned turrets
ATK and ADVS UK unveiled two new unmanned turret systems – the Modular Remote Turret (MRT) and the Light Weight Remote Turret (LWRT) – at the AUSA Annual Meeting
The MRT was designed to meet the need for a remotely operated turret that can be loaded from under armour. According to ATK the MRT is ‘lighter, faster to slew, and requires no hull intrusion compared to existing manned, medium calibre turrets’.
The MRT is optimised for ATK’s full suite of medium-calibre chain guns: the M242 25mm Bushmaster, the LW25 25mm Bushmaster, the MK44 30/40mm Bushmaster, the M230LF LW30mm Chain Gun
