Polish OPV undergoes final sea trials as Bulgaria programme faces delay
The latest OPV destined for the Polish Navy, ORP Slazak, recently began final sea trials ahead of a handover to the service, the final leg of a near four-month long test programme.
Originally constructed as the first of seven Gawron-class corvettes, the OPV set out for the last phase of testing on 28 January.
Previous sea trials allowed Slazak’s manufacturer, PGZ Stocznia Wojenna and its associated partners, to demonstrate the vessel’s full performance and handling abilities as well as to test main systems and onboard equipment, such as propulsion plant, radar and communications.
