Euronaval 2016: NCM software frozen ahead of test firing

Software development of the naval cruise missile (NCM), designed and manufactured by MBDA, has been stopped ahead of more complex practical tests in the coming months.

The first live firing of an NCM by a Marine Nationale Barracuda-class submarine will take place in 2018, the latest development in the long running programme for the Marine Nationale. 

However MBDA officials said that international markets were also of interest and the system will soon be the sole option for firing from 21 inch torpedo tubes, it was claimed.
