Stan chosen for Jamaica
The Jamaican Defence Force (JDF) has moved to replace its three recently decommissioned County-class patrol vessels with the award to Damen Shipbuilding Group for two Stan Patrol 4207 vessels.
As well as the specifications for the new patrol ships, the contract also details a trade-in agreement that involves JDF’s existing County-class vessels (pictured). The HMJS Cornwall, HMJS Middlesex and HMJS Surrey were built by Damen and have been in active service with JDF since 2005 and 2006.
