Moscow beefs up its strategic bomber force
The Russian Air and Space Force’s (RuASF’s) Long-Range Aviation arm upped its numerical strength by taking two freshly-overhauled and upgraded Tu-95MS Bear-H turboprop-powered subsonic bombers in April.
According to Taganrog-based TANTK Beriev company, the contractor for the programme, the aging nuclear-capable strategic bombers, overhauled, upgraded and life-extended at its facility, are set to continue in regular service for a long time.
The RuASF’s Bear-H fleet is undergoing a small-scale upgrade including new avionics, used to replace the critical obsolete systems in the navigation system and display systems, in addition to new fuel system components and the capability to deploy the
