Khibini-2 EW systems for the Russian Su-34 bomber fleet
The Russian Air and Space Forces Su-34 bombers have begun receiving the new KNIRTI Khibini-2 pod-mounted electronic warfare (EW) system.
The first front-line unit to take the new system is the 47th BAP, a bomber regiment operating 24 aircraft in two squadrons, based at Voronezh-Baltimor airfield south of Moscow. It is the premier strike unit of the 6th Air and Air Defence Army, headquartered in St Petersburg in Russia’s Western Military District, and is reported to have taken on more than 30 EW pods.
