ISDEF 2017: Officials warn of emerging threats

As Israel marks the 50th anniversary of the Six-Day War, the state now finds itself on the front lines against international terrorism, according to deputy minister of defence Eliyahu Ben-Dahan.

Speaking to gathered delegates at the opening ceremony of the ISDEF 2017 exhibition in Tel Aviv, Ben-Dahan said that new threats had emerged in the years since the country was founded.

‘Fifty years ago we had the Six-Day War… and today we are strong and on the front line [in the fight against] Islamic terrorism,’ he stated.

The Six-Day War saw neighbouring Arab countries launch a surprise attack against Israel,
