Eurosatory: DSM Dyneema responds to trends in armour market

DSM Dyneema is presenting vehicle armour solutions based on its Force Multiplier Technology at Eurosatory.

Force Multiplier Technology combines developments in polymer science, next-generation UHMwPE fibre technology and uni-directional engineering. Industry forecasters predict the use of UHMwPE materials in armour application to show double-digit growth in the next five years.

Dyneema sees next-generation materials technologies as an important part of optimising vehicle performance, fuel efficiency, capacity and manoeuvrability.

According to Dyneema, solutions engineered with Force Multiplier Technology can reduce weight by up to 25% compared to traditional materials such as ceramics, glass and aramid having a positive impact on speed,
