The US Army is asking for industry input for ways to buy Block 2 MH-47G Chinook for its special operations forces (SOF).

In a 14 March RfI, the service said it is 'conducting market research' on ways to replace 61 remanufactured (reman) MH-47G with Block 2 aircraft. Under the army's reman MH-47G programme, the army salvaged CH-47D and MH-47E airframes to make the new model.

'The Block 2 MH-47G incorporates an army common structural baseline and the Block 2 MH-47G configuration was established under the reconfiguration programme which modernised some systems and relocated equipment,' the document stated.
