The US Army is buying more AGM-114 Hellfire air-to-surface missiles from Lockheed Martin under a $702.88 million contract modification awarded on 22 July.

Work will be completed by 30 September 2023, according to the DoD.

Funding comes from the FY2010, FY2011, FY2018, FY2019 and FY2020 army procurement budget.

The AGM-114 Hellfire family of missiles includes the Hellfire II and Longbow Hellfire missiles, as used on US Army AH-64 Apache attack helicopters.

Hellfire additionally arms OH-58 Kiowa Warrior, MQ-1C Gray Eagle UAS, Special Operations aircraft, USMC AH-1W Super Cobra helicopters and USAF Predator and Reaper UAS.

Lockheed Martin is also prime contractor for the Joint Air-to-Ground Missile, which will replace Hellfire in US Army service.
