UK to decide on MH-47G in 2020

A decision on whether the UK chooses to replace or upgrade a number of its current Chinook fleet with newer MH-47G aircraft will be made in ‘mid 2020’, according to a MoD Defence Equipment and Support spokesperson.

An assessment phase to define such a requirement is in motion at present and once concluded, should the MH-47G replacement be agreed upon, a set timescale would be laid out for a future procurement process to take place.
