Anti-submarine warfare (ASW) is returning as a key agenda item for many nations looking at the future of maritime security.
Germany is aware that a lot of its ASW portfolio will soon need replacing and/or updating in the near future.
Speaking at UDT in Bremen, Cmdr Christian Moritz, staff officer plans, policy and international cooperation with the German Navy, said the consensus in Germany was that the nation's ASW capabilities need renewal, and this will be through a mix of updated systems and new procurements.
