Thales, Europavia win Spanish helo support
The Thales Programas and Europavia consortium has received a contract from the Spanish Army for the maintenance of helicopter communications and electronics systems, Thales announced on 24 April.
The contract will run until 2019 with the possibility of an extension until 2020.
Helicopter types to be supported include the Chinook CH-47D, AB212, Super Puma, H135, Cougar AS532UL, Tiger and NH90.
Under the contract, the consortium will carry out both corrective and preventive maintenance of navigation systems, communications, inertial navigation, control panels, indicators, temperature probes, radars and electric compasses. The companies will also supply spares, equipment and tools.
