Surplus Kiowas an opportunity not competition

The divestment of the Bell Helicopter OH-58D Kiowa Warrior and TH-67 Creek training aircraft is being pitched as an opportunity for customers to buy at a lower cost before any future purchase of the Bell 407.

There has been commentary within the industry that surplus Bell aircraft within the market could affect sales of the company’s products.

Regarding the OH-58D Kiowa Warrior programme, Joel Best, senior manager – Europe Bell military programmes, commented: ‘The aircraft that are going to be harvested are exceedingly robust EDA [Excess Defence Articles] aircraft.’
