Sikorsky wins $500m US Navy helicopter deal

The US Department of Defense (DoD) has awarded Sikorsky a contract to supply the US Navy with 37 helicopters, valued at more than $500 million. 

On 9 January the US DoD announced 10 contracts worth $1.094 billion in total, allocating Sikorsky a $545 million ‘modification’ to a contract to fund 18 MH-60S helicopters and 19 MH-60R Seahawk helicopters for the navy.

The new deal includes the required ‘engineering, programme management, systems engineering, provisioning, technical publications [and] other integrated logistics support’ needed for the fleet, the DoD said in a written statement.
