Russian MoD to take Mi-38 in 2019

The Russian MoD is set to take delivery of its first Mi-38T 15.6t transport helicopter built at Kazan Helicopters next year.

According to Russian Helicopters director general, Andrey Boginsky, the contract had foreseen an earlier delivery in late 2018, but conclusively 2019 was deemed of being more suitable due to the avionics suite changes currently being undertaken by avionics manufacturer and integrator Kret.

In September 2016, Russian Helicopters reported that it had launched a new flight test campaign an effort to expand the Mi-38’s operational envelope upon request by the Russian MoD while the Russian Air and Space Force (RuASF)
