Russian MoD places a contract for Mi-28UBs and Mi-26s

The first contract for delivery of a batch of Mi-28UB attack helicopters with dual controls has been signed by Russian MoD and Russian Helicopters.

The news was confirmed by the MoD press which added that all the contracted helicopters will be delivered up to the end of 2018.

The delivery schedule, which covers 24 helicopters, is likely to see 12 Mi-28UBs rolled out in 2017 and 12 more in 2018 in order to provide a smooth workload for the type’s manufacturer, Rostvertol in Rostov on Don in the southern part of Russia.

Additionally, the contract also includes two Mi-26 heavylift
