Osceola County Sheriff Department Equips Second OH-58 With Sagem ICDS
Wysong Enterprises of Blountville, TN has completed the second installation of the Sagem Integrated Cockpit Display System in Osceola County Sheriff Department’s OH-58 helicopter.
The department had previously upgraded one of its other OH-58 helicopters with the same configuration and has selected the ICDS for its third helicopter.
The Sagem ICDS OH-58 installation is configured with two 8-inch displays. The display system integrates Primary Flight Instruments and Multifunction Display system functions such as TAS – Traffic Advisory System, radar display, moving map, TOPS – Terrain Obstacle Proximity System and engine instruments leaving very few analog gauges and annunciators left in the cockpit.
Osceola County Sheriff acquired the OH-58 Kiowa Helicopters under the US Government military surplus aircraft program and they are operated in conjunction with public safety support missions.
Sagem Avionics (SAFRAN Group) is pleased to have the opportunity to serve the needs of the Law Enforcement community. Other customers of the Sagem ICDS in public service aircraft include the Los Angeles Police Department, the San Diego Police Department, the Riverside County Sheriff Department, the Seminole County Sheriff Department and others.
The recently completed OH-58 helicopter will be on display at the Sagem Booth #727 during the Airborne Law Enforcement Association annual convention in Savannah, Georgia from July 23rd through the 25th, 2009.
Two other aircraft will be available for viewing: another law enforcement aircraft, a Eurocopter EC120 operated by Seminole County Sheriff, on display at the Sagem booth and a privately owned MD500 on display at the MD Helicopters booth #109.
