Northrop Grumman confirmed on 22 April that it has provided the US Army with new digital cockpit upgrades for its UH-60V Black Hawk helicopters.

The company recently finished the initial operational test and evaluation stage of the development process.

James Conroy, VP Navigation, Targeting & Survivability at Northrop Grumman, said that the new cockpits use ‘scalable, fully integrated avionics system will ensure the legacy Black Hawk fleet remains at the forefront of combat capability for decades to come’.

The new software enhances pilot situational awareness and operator safety whilst reducing crew workload and lifecycle costs.
