MSPO 2017: Poland’s slow helicopter purchases continue

The second iteration of the Polish tender to meet urgent requirements for new helicopters for ASW/SAR and special operations forces (SOF) support missions is proving to be a prolonged process.

Despite being labelled an ‘urgent requirement’ at its launch in early 2017, with offers from three bidders submitted on 27 March 2017, by late August the Polish MoD is still reviewing the offers.

The process is being carried out in strict secrecy and no announcements have been made yet on offer ranking and the selection of a preferred bidder.
