Italian Navy receives NH90 MITT helicopter
The Italian Navy has received its first NH90 Maritime – Italian Navy Tactical Transport (MITT) helicopter from Leonardo, the company announced on 21 February.
This is the first of ten NH90 MITTs on order that the navy will deploy for amphibious support and special forces operations. It has been designated MH-90.
The MH-90 combines features of the tactical transport NH90, including rear ramp and mission equipment, with features of the naval variant, such as optimised landing gear and dynamics for ship operations.
