Heli-Expo 2012: Engine market recovering claims Turbomeca

Turbomeca has enjoyed a comfortable 2011 after bumps in the helicopter industry during 2010.

Speaking at the company's press conference at Heli-Expo in Dallas, Olivier Andries, President and CEO of Turbomeca, said the recession had been left behind.

Figures show the company built some 950 engines, a 20% increase over 2010, and had repaired 1,450 with a company turnover of $1.3 billion.

'The trouble is now behind us, and the market is picking up again,' said Andries.

'We see continued growth into 2013 and perhaps a recovery to the level of activity we saw in 2009.'
