German heavy-lift programme growing in support

German industry partners to be used for the country's heavy-lift helicopter competition are increasing across both platforms as the two participant OEMs hedge their bets on the selection process being swayed by indigenous industrial input.

Partners including: AERO-Bildungs GmbH; Aircraft Philipp, CAE Elektronik GmbH; COTESA; Diehl Defence; Honeywell; Liebherr-Aerospace; Reiser Simulation; Training GmbH; Rockwell Collins; and Rolls-Royce have all been enlisted by Boeing to fulfill delivery, maintenance and training requirements on its CH-47 aircraft

The move is in keeping with growing speculation that the German government could request from industry that it commits to retaining a certain percentage of domestic
