FIDAE 2010: Sikorsky pushes Black Hawk in South America

Sikorsky's decision to open a Black Hawk training facility in South America underlines the importance of the product to the region, according to the company.

More than 100 UH-60 and S-70s are being operated by the armed services of Latin American nations, with a large number these aircraft flown by Columbia while four Seahawks have been ordered by the Brazilian Navy to operate from its aircraft carrier, the Sao Paulo.

'We are actively campaigning to promote the Black Hawk in several Latin American countries,' explained David Powell, VP of Sales in the Americas for Sikorsky.
