Chinook Block II moves forward

Boeing has been awarded an engineering, manufacturing and development contract for the manufacture of three CH-47F Chinook Block II aircraft, the US DoD announced on 27 July.

The US Army deal was originally anticipated to be signed off by the end of August. The Milestone B for the Block II programme was approved in April of this year.

The $276 million deal will see work on the aircraft take place at Boeing’s facility in Ridley Park, Pennsylvania and is expected to be completed within three years.
