Afghan Air Force receives latest MD 530F helicopters
MD Helicopters has completed delivery of 30 MD 530F Cayuse Warrior helicopters to the Afghan Air Force, the company announced on 22 November.
The aircraft were ordered in September 2017 under the company’s $1.4 billion, five-year IDIQ contract.
The final batch of five aircraft shipped out of Mesa-Gateway Airport in Mesa, Arizona, and arrived in Kandahar at the end of October.
With this shipment, MD Helicopters has successfully met all requirements of IDIQ Delivery Order 1, and the number of MD 530F training and combat aircraft delivered to the Afghan Air Force has reached 60.
MD Helicopters has an additional 24 aircraft contracted via the IDIQ contract vehicle.
