The US Army’s 29th Combat Aviation Brigade (CAB) unit in Iraq has received new CH-47F Chinook helicopters.

The incoming CH-47Fs are the first in a series of deliveries that will continue through the fall of 2017.

The helicopters will replace the CAB's outgoing CH-47Fs that have been in service for nearly three years in Kuwait and Iraq. The outgoing aircraft will return to the US for maintenance and reset.

The newly arriving CH-47Fs will improve 29th CAB's operational readiness and enable crew to fly critical missions for Combined Joint Task Force - Operation Inherent Resolve.
