UK MoD awards investment for full production of RAF’s Eurofighter Typhoon radar upgrade

The UK Ministry of Defence (MoD) has awarded BAE Systems with a £453 million (US$611 million) contract for full production and integration of the active electronically scanned array radar – Eurofighter Common Radar System (ECRS Mk 2) – for UK Royal Air Force (RAF) Eurofighter Typhoons.
According to the company, 38 ECRS Mk 2 radars will be produced and integrated onto Tranche 3 standard jets, with it expected to be operational by the end of the decade.
