Duqm pilot boats on course
As the construction of two pilot boats ordered by an Omani port earlier this year continues, US-based Kvichak Marine Industries is exploring further deals in the region.
The company was awarded the contract by the Port of Duqm for two 19m all-weather boats in January and has a stated delivery date of January 2016.
Designed by Camarc Design in the UK, the aluminium vessels will be powered by twin Cummins QSK-19 marine diesel engines rated for 800hp at 2100rpm each, providing an operating speed of around 20 knots.
