Unmanned demos come with demanding cost

An increasing number of unmanned demonstrations, similar to the Royal Navy’s Unmanned Warrior in 2016, are on the horizon as end users continue to get to grips with the technology.

However, they come at a cost.

There is recognition amongst industry members that while large scale demonstrations provide a good platform for their products it can be expensive.

Speaking to Shephard, Bill Biggs, senior campaign leader for autonomy at Qinetiq said: ‘[Demonstrations] are expensive in relative terms, the challenge in autonomy is in helping form a market.
