Romania receives Phoenix 30 UAS
Four Phoenix 30 Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) have been delivered to the Romanian Army by UAV Solutions under a foreign military sale, the company announced on 11 January.
The sale included the UAVS Dragon View combined electro-optical/infrared (EO/IR) stabilised camera sensor, a ground control system, applicable spares and ground support equipment.
The Phoenix UAS is a 14lb vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) electric-powered system capable of carrying a maximum two-pound payload. The UAS requires no assembly and takes only a few minutes to deploy. Endurance is 30 to 35 minutes depending on mission profile.
The UAS can fly in winds up to 25 knot gusts in up to an-inch-an-hour of rain. Maximum speed is 24 knots and cruise speed is 15.5 knots. Typical operating altitudes are 50-500ft. AGL with a MSL up to 10,000ft.
